Creating a New Calendar
This guide will help you create a new calendar.
Basic Information
To create a new calendar, you'll need to provide:
- Calendar Name: A name for your calendar.
- Template: Choose a pre-configured template for your calendar or start with blank template.
Other options(optional):
- Password: A password to protect your calendar.
- Number of Users: Initial number of placeholder users to add.
Step by Step Guide
Click on the New calendar button placed in the top right on calendar list.
Fill in the required information:
- Enter a calendar name
- Select a template
- Specify the number of turns (optional)
- Set a password (if desired)
- Define the number of initial users (optional)
Click "Create" if your select a template or "Continue configuration" if you start with blank template. You can skip assistant if you want to configure your calendar later, click on "Go to calendar" directly.
Follow the assistant to configure your calendar. Assistant will guide you through the process of setting up your calendar.
Administrator Options
When creating a calendar with a template, you have two administrator-related options:
- Administrator Participant: By default, the creator is added as a participating administrator.
- Just Administrator: Uncheck this option if you want to be added as a non-participating administrator. you can join the calendar later.
Assistant
Assistant asks you about the type of users, type of demands and type of days:
Type of demands: Demand types refer to the different personal demands that users will cover:
- Demand name: A name for the demand (Ej. "Night shift")
- Abbreviation: An abbreviation for the demand that will be shown in the calendar (Ej. "NS").
- Number of days blocked: You can block a number of days after working this type of demand (Ej. 1 day blocked after NS).
- Color: You can choose a color for the demand type that will be shown in the calendar.
- After the assistant finishes, you can add more than one demand type.
Type of users: User types refer to the different types of users that will cover the demands:
- User type name: A name for the user type (Ej. "Nurse", "Doctor", "Receptionist", etc.)
- Abbreviation: An abbreviation for the user type that will be shown in the calendar (Ej. "N", "D", "R", etc.).
- Polivalency: This allows you to select the user type's ability to cover different types of demands.
- Default: If checked, this type of user will be automatically assigned to new users.
- After the assistant finishes, you can add more than one user type.
Type of days: You have to choose the types of day that you want to show in the calendar. This can be useful if in your case, it is important the day in which a demand is covered. For example: it is not the same to work on a Wednesday than on a Saturday. You can customize:
- Abbreviation: An abbreviation for the day type that will be shown in the calendar (Ej. "W", "Sat", "Sun", etc.).
- Color: You can choose a color for the day type that will be shown in the calendar.
You can skip the assistant any time if you want to configure your calendar later.
Important Notes
- The calendar name and number of turns are mandatory fields
- If you not set a password, anyone with the link can access to your calendar. Just in view mode.
Next Steps
After creating your calendar, you can:
- Invite other users or add dummy ones for testing.
- Configure calendar settings, type of demands, type of users, etc.
- Set your requirements, vacations, users preferences, etc.
- Autogenerate calendar.
